I live in Northern Beaches. How does the Pickup work?

How does it work?

1. Schedule a pickup to set up your collection day

  • Log in on our website by clicking “get started” or “log in”

  • Or use our app

2. Each day, put your hard-to-recycle things into any regular shopping bag

Basic items include: 

  • Soft plastics (currently only available in some councils)
  • Clothes & Textiles
  • E-waste: small items that use electricity
  • Misfit items: other household items that can be recycled
  • You can put any basic items in the same bag. We recommend keeping soft plastics, aluminium coffee capsules and batteries separate from other items.

Plus+ items include: 

  • Big electronics
  • Clunky cardboard
3. Leave the bag/s outside your house for us to collect on pickup day
  • Leave it at your doorstep or in a visible and safe location for our driver to spot
  • 💡Tip: Add clear driver instructions in the app (e.g. “left side of the porch behind the plant”) to make your next Pickup seamless. You can even add a picture in three clicks.
  • We take your items to one of our consolidation points where we sort and record everything collected. Then, we send it to our vetted reuse or recycling partners. Learn more here.

How much does a Pickup cost?

  • Our Pickups start from $15 per month for 2 bags of tricky-to-recycle items (roughly 40x40x20cm) collected every 4 weeks. 

  • Alternatively, you can book an on-demand Pickup whenever you need from $19. 

Why is there no free option for Northern Beaches?

Free plans are subsidised by our council partners. If we are not partnered with your council, we are unable to offer a free plan as we need to cover the cost of collecting and delivering your recyclables. At this stage, Northern Beaches Council is not one of our council partners.


How do I get the pink bags?

  • If you’d like to buy our pink bags, click here.
  • You can pack your hard to recycle things into any normal shopping bags you have lying around. As long as they are roughly the right size (40x40x20) we will collect and recycle them along with the rest of your things.
  • If you’ve got reusable shopping bags, even better! We’ll sort your recycling on the spot and return your bags to your doorstep before we leave.
